Thoughts on the X-Wave?
Earth X Venom would be the ish...I loved that design and the story of the character behind it...

X-Wave...X-Wave...

Well...I'm not gonna be popular for saying it, but I'm also not going blow smoke up everyone's ass either...with this wave, it's become real apparent that Hasbro is having issues keeping the QC up with the accelerated and massive release schedule they've had this year, and it's kinda dampened my excitement for it a little bit. Hopefully some of you will have better luck than me.

I'll break this down into two posts...

Gladiator: Let's get the elephant out of the room...This figure sucks. Sorry. I know that there was a bunch of hoopla over this character a while back here on the board, but this figure is awful, and to you guys, I'm sorry. QC issues...everywhere. Paint splatter everywhere, a cape that doesn't fit into the hole on his back (you will have to shave it down, just a warning...) fuzzy linework...you know what...I don't want to talk about him anymore. I'm just gonna put this here...I hope the SDCC version was better for you Gladiator fans...

Multiple Man: I can't really say a whole lot about the figure honestly, as I'm not a huge fan of the character or this look. I did enjoy Madrox's Marvel Knights book, so that's the look that I would have preferred. This figure will be coveted though for a number of reasons though, thanks to army builders, and the Gambit customizers who will be sure to want this figure for the new (as far as I can tell) jacket arms and the brown coat (the cowl-less head makes a perfect Johnny Storm if you were to paint the hair blonde.) The head-sculpts though are all terrific though, I must say, but the line-work on mine is fuzzy and the lack of extra hands really hurts it a bit. The heads are also dremeled improperly on mine, and in some cases, too deep. One of them literally sits all the way down on the neck peg with a tilt. I have to lift it upwards for it to sit properly.

Magneto: Not a bad update to the original, but once again, there are paint issues, on mine with the line-work. The cape is the most frustrating thing though...it has some sort of weird fin on the peg that it supposed to cause it to flare out a bit, but all it does is keep the cape from sitting properly on the figure. I also wish that this figure was on the Sunfire body, and not the Bucky Cap. On the positive, I like the effects that we were given, and as a bonus, Magneto's purple hands also fit on the Wonder Man figure (and his fists fit on Magneto vice versa) giving both figures new options they never had before. I also like the boot cut, and the armor on his wrists are removable as well.
