So it's the vendor's fault, not the factory? Well, whoever was responsible for the tooling, I guess.

Regardless, it's still up to Matty to fix the issue by doing another run with a correct mold. But at least now I see why it could take some time to do that, since the actual "master" mold containing the shoulder pieces will have to be redone. Depending on how the plates were done (and how many parts-per-plate there are), that could be the same as starting from scratch.

At the very least, I hope Mattel seeks out a new vendor in the future.
