That’s not really an explanation. 6” has always been kind of an awkward scale, too large for many vehicles, too small for more detailed or fiddly elements like cloth clothing. That it attained the current preponderance that it seems to command is somewhat inexplicable. I suspect obsessive Marvel Legends collectors, personally.

Ripcord/Bongo for life, square.

They basically did nothing with his character, and that’s just as well, since he was pretty much a direct rip of Marlon Wayans’ cowardly dolt Deus ex Machina from the first movie, and existed to do little more than hit on Scarlett, which just cluttered up the pre-existing love-triangle/unresolved sexual tension between Scarlett and Snake Eyes on the one hand, and Scarlett and Duke on the other. To the showrunners’ credit, they seem to have been aware of this, hence Rapcord getting put on a bus at the soonest available opportunity.

I don’t think I’d agree. The original, better-remembered Sunbow cartoon only aired regularly between 1985 and 1986, and the 1987 movie was apparently not successful enough for Hasbro to renew the series. To the extent that it’s remembered today, it’s mostly associated with the goofy/campy aspects, like the aforementioned “Boy George” reference, Cobra pilots always successfully parachuting out of their stricken aircraft, Cobra Commander’s cowardice, and “knowing is half the battle.” By contrast, the comic ran for basically the entire length of the original toyline’s stay on store shelves, and was one of Marvel’s consistently best-selling titles for years.

I don’t really remember Jinx and Kamakura leaving much of an impression. Cobra Commander was unexpectedly impressive, though.

You can’t go wrong with the classics.
