But we have Giger's designs for comparison, and it is important to note that he left out the original Alien in his review. He was indirectly criticizing the changes made to the xenomorphs in Aliens and Alien 3. I believe he is simply referring to the xenomorph designs in the film - back to smooth heads, two thumbs, and bipedal - and not to the newborn or the queen, neither of which he designed. The fact that he thinks it is more similar to his concept of the alien life cycle, famously cut from the original film, tells me that he may have misunderstood what was going on in Resurrection.
