BTW, I found a good, cheap base for that particular custom in the Ultimate Peter Parker Spider-man figure(Miles would be better for joint rub, but it fits the nature of the costume), but I want to put in the webbing detail as seen in the movie. So, my opinions are:

Hand-paint them with a toothpick or thumbtack after the suit is painted black. The paint for the webbing would be silver with a hint of black in it. I'm also considering a drop or 2 of 3D raised paint to help it stand out a bit more.

Or I could just paint the thing black and carefully etch the webs into the dried paint with a thumbtack.

Which one do you guys think would work better?
you could try sourcing an older smaller 3.75 spidey that had the webbing actually imprinted into the sculpt, undercoat of white for webbing effect(paint will seep into the webbing grooves) top coat of black for suit.use a light paint that does not build up in areas.gundam pens are good for those type off jobs.
