Many retailers typically do this the first one to three months of the new year and will often stock the bare minimum of product so as to make less work for themselves.

In the stores where I've seen the Captain Marvel wave thus far (keep in mind I've only spotted the 4 times in the wild myself,) it's the MCU Carol and Yon Rogg figures that are warming, while the Skrull, Fury and comic figures are nowhere to be found.
