Problem with Storm is that they are very slow from prototype/announcement to release. I am still waiting on Kitana they had prototypes on display almost 2 years ago. Apart from their different colour swap ninjas, the rest of the MK releases have taken a long time.

McF on the other hand is quiet fast, albeit low on quality. But given that we do get a new MK every 4 years with new character designs, Storm seems like a bad bet to hope to collect all the characters for a given entry of the series. In a way, that is probably why Storm has sort of locked their focus onto the Klassic costume designs. That way, they can slowly work on them without any time pressure to have it released before the next entry etc.
