I think it’s probably because the hobby has been more of an obtain, assemble, paint, play the game sort of deal with this series. When fully painted large scale (compared to the miniature size of the original line) figures are released, they probably see it as an avenue most would pursue, resulting in a dent in sales for the current lines.

But the way I see it, the ones who are likely to go and buy a figure will likely be those who would have otherwise never gotten it from the current lines anyway. Personally, there have been many times I’ve been on the GW page looking at the Wraithknight, but simply deciding not to buy because I don’t have the time or skill to paint it afterward.

To get it custom painted, is also pretty expensive for these Titan class units. So for folks like me, this is great, and I don’t think it will make a dent in the sales or current lines.
