I think the silly way stuff is being released is an intentional attempt to steer people to order online. The obvious downside is you can’t see what you’re actually buying. You get what you get. That would be ok if the qc was more consistent but, with the overwhelming amount of product Hasbro is pumping out I think qc issues will continue to be a problem. It’s obvious to me that Hasbro is rushing these figures to market. The overhead for selling product online is much less than traditional brick and mortar shops and it seems that this is a trend we’re seeing a lot of lately since TRU went under. Whether we collectors like it or not online shopping is the wave of the future. The days of cherry picking the best looking stuff are endangered. With online sales retailers can now force inferior products on us. Online gives retailers a way to get rid of poor quality merch that used to languish on the shelves. It’s another example of cutting corners to maximize profits. And another sad example of how consumers seem to be losing their voice in the marketplace.
