As others have said, Mattel's product isn't even remotely on par with Hasbro's. Now that might not matter; businesses contract out to less competent parties who offer to give them a better financial deal all the time. BUT in this case it's clear that lack of quality was actually hurting the popularity of the DC Multiverse figures, even after you take into account that Marvel is obviously a more popular brand than DC right now. It's clear that retailers just do not want these figures, and even then the distribution is horrible.

They do better with the dolls and such (which I'm guessing is why Marvel is allowing them to do those X-Men Barbies), but giving them the 6-inch action figure license would be suicide for the brand. I don't think it'll happen.
