It isn't the fact the show ended, it's the fact it crashed and burned so spectacularly it's destroyed it's cultural icon status. In comparison BTTF is beloved three decades on. According to the interview with McFarlane I read, retailer interest in GoT just evaporated with season eight and there is no point spending money on figures retailers don't want to sell.
