There are a lot of international shipping issues. I am a Buyer and work with non-Toy companies. Been teleconferencing and emailing with most of them the past 3 weeks. In China, there is a shortage of shipping containers, increased inspections, raw material challenges and a lot of uncertainty. In the US, most states have stay at home orders and it is affecting distribution. Priority is consumable goods. We are lucky anything new is being shipped from Toy manufacturers and if stores have people to put out products we want. Things are probably going to get delayed or canceled this year. We will survive. Let's stay strong, help each other out and hope that the new normal won't be having to put on face masks and gloves to go outside our homes.
I work with doctors and hospitals everyday (grateful to still be working, albeit remotely from home) and what providers are telling me in personal conversations is extremely unsettling. "Possibly the worst plague in human history..." "Plateauing in June/July, if we are miraculously lucky." Doctors are scared, even the ones that aren't on the front lines due to the cancelling of all elective procedures.

The virus to this point has been largely treated like a partisan issue, with the country prolonging the flattening of the curve by not taking this seriously. You've got governors resisting instituting social distancing protocols, in some foolish attempt to curry favor with the POTUS, a few billionaires more invested in their avarice than they are society, and a misinformed block of voters.

I'm in a hot spot in CT right outside of NY and I'm literally getting dirty looks from people for wearing gloves and a mask when going out sparingly to get groceries. If we don't start taking this more seriously, not only will it delay getting back to normal, we could see a resurgence of the virus in the fall and winter which would be disastrous on a number of levels.

Covid-19 doesn't care whether one is from a blue or red state, nor whether someone believes it's real or not. Be responsible. Stay home. We all have to do our part to stop the spread of this virus and learn from it because, unfortunately, pandemics are going to be a fixture of the "new normal" moving forward.
