There was someone else that said something similar but this forum is a tiny subset of Marvel collectors out there. The vocal crowd of people complaining about them not having money isn't who Hasbro is going after with this price point. The small subset of broke people aren't the majority who are buying this. While many have lost their jobs, there are other people still doing financially well in this pandemic. People complaining about spending $350 on a brand new 26" piece while they run out and buy every single wave at $150 a pop when they don't even care for all of the characters and half of the wave is a Deadpool rehash.
Some moments I look at it and love it. Some, I wish they would've went for a less cartoonish color scheme and look. I'm torn and not sure which way i'm going to go with this. Obviously with the 7K+ backers at this time, there's not a shortage of people that want it and will pay for it. A buddy of mine said he's going to try and find a way to pre-order 10. I get it. They are huge and will look better then the others scaled in a more appropriate size.
In terms of the price, it's a huge detailed 26" brand new figure. The tooling to create this will not be cheap. Hot Toys are anywhere from $150-250 and 12" in scale. Neca while putting out quality pieces to look at tend to fall short in terms of articulation, paint apps, etc. While the 22" Chap is cool, I don't see the cost being comparable to this and that figure that is mostly all black and nowhere near as articulated. Big chap has 30+ points of articulation while this Sentinel has 70+. I would be interested in seeing the weight comparison between the 2 pieces. IMO these are poor comparisons in talking about Hot Toys, Neca or anything else when talking about this Haslab Sentinel especially with the included upgraded at the different tiers. They are smart too by adding different heads knowing that could sway people to buy more to army build them, even at that high price. That battle damaged sentinel head is awesome as a army builder or dio piece. Can't say i'm a fan of that oversized Mastermind head that kinda looks out of place and way too big for that head. Makes it look more like a childs toy to me IMO.
In terms of the overall appeal of this Sentinel, the market has clearly spoken for this regardless of those who don't see it.
