I had a similar issue when I ordered Onyx Batman last year where they took my points but never actually filled my order but I was able to get them back pretty easily. I figured a simple fix for that would've been just to not automatically apply the rewards points on the purchase and allow the customer to add them if they wanted to. But I guess they figured just blocking exclusives was a more beneficial strategy for them...
