What are my options here? I feel like if I could just have a bunch of generic 1/18th capes and paint them it'd work. This is where 3D printing would come in handy, but the usual material is bad for this, so I'd have to use Resin which is expensive. Any ideas? Capes never work out well using green stuff either.
I'd need at least 3 (Batwoman, Supes, Shazam)
I use Star Wars plastic capes on various figures and they work great.
I just swapped a cape from...er...princess Leia, I think, onto Quasar and it's a huge improvement.
I use Duplucolor Automotive Spray paint on the capes, as it bonds to even rubberized plastic as primer.
Dries perfect too and takes paint like a champ.
You can also use scissors to neatly cut those capes and fit them before painting.
EDIT: I almost forgot- Vortious customs sells various capes.
