I’m a hardcore transformers fan, and had a fair amount of GI Joes as a kid, yet not once did I feel slighted by the film versions. My childhood memories haven’t been tarnished. The first GI Joe was crappy, but it had some fun moments. The 2nd film was a love letter to the sunbow cartoons. The GI Joe and Transformers films are full of Easter eggs and little nods to the 1980’s franchises.

Fingers crossed. Foxx is a good actor, but ASM2 gave him nothing. Hopefully the MCU doesn’t just make his storyline some woke crap.

Costume-wise, Marvel has done really well. Character-wise, marvel villains have mostly been boring. I think the only genuinely exciting MCU villain performance was Loki. The rest seemed bland and phoned in. Case in point, as I typed this, I was trying to think of the names of many of the MCU villains. Without concentrating, I was only able to come up with Loki, Thanos, and Ultron.

Fine by me, as I’m feeling MCU’d out. It’s not a popular opinion, so I won’t dwell on it, but Infinity War/Endgame weren’t anywhere near the top of the mcu films. Thor Ragnarok, Guardians 1, and SM Homecoming, were much, much better.
