There's definitely a recurring issue though where talented performers aren't given enough material as the villain to stand out or alternatively if they do stand out then they're unfortunately short on screen-time. My go-to example is Andy Serkis as Klaue, he seems like he was having a blast playing that character which gives him a fun energy and he tends to steal the scenes he's in but then he's only in like three or four scenes across two movies. This problem obviously isn't exclusive to Marvel movies (MCU, Fox, or Sony) but I think that with their lengthy catalog of movies and tendency to kill villains off after one movie it's especially more detectable.
Vulture was ok, but he wasn’t “Vulture” to me... as a parent of a then-teenage girl, I identified more with him as “Who are you to date my daughter guy” than Adrien Toomes (that being said, I LOVE Keaton has come out of retirement and back into film. He really puts 100% into it). Far From Home I just couldn’t get into. Even my wife, who has loved every Marvel movie (even Thor 2), was squirmy and ready to leave an hour into the film. Mysterio in the comics was creepy. Spidey KNEW it was always effects, but he was STILL creeped out by Fishbowl. Movie mysterio wasn’t creepy. He felt like recycled Dr Strange effects. I know it didn’t fit the story they were going for, but what’s next? Green Goblin is a disgruntled Walmart greeter?

Serkis was great as Klaw, and I was bummed they offed him so quickly, but it’s for the best. No way they’d be able to bring him back in today’s political climate, being they made the character a white supremacist.
