At this time there doesn't seem to be a story-driven reason, if that's what your asking. Hasbro was probably given early promotional images to use for their designs. Pretty much all of the promotional materials for the series had Moira in the pink/purple, while the comic series itself eventually went with the green palette.

Huh, that actually is surprising because Jean, Scott, & Wolvie were all pretty front and center on all things leading up to HOX/POX.
