I agree. I had a tougher time getting used to that initial Scarlet Witch fig, but eventually got the knack. This pic has her feet out of frame and it was years ago, but I remember being satisfied with the results after fiddling with her center of gravity and I'm also fairly certain I didn't use a peg. However, to your point, I believe there was something about her being elevated that made it easier to achieve balance...

It also doesn't help that my figure also has a circular paint chip right above her lip so it looks like she has a mole there. YUCK!!!
Yeah, I can see that. I haven't handled the fig in a good while, but I remember being a little frustrated with the range of motion for a few joints.

It's funny, I was actually talking figure aesthetics with a friend today regarding those old Toybiz figures, and hot damn...looking back at them in terms of sculpt and paintwork, it's hard to believe some of the results that Toybiz was able to put out with some of those pre Marvel Legends figures. Looking back...some of these were nearly on McFarlane levels back in those days. Spider-Carnage for example was on a translucent body, with sculpted webs, spider logo, and veins all the way down to the tip of his bladed fingers, with multiple shades of paint in the mouth alone, and a sweet wash to go along with it (and light piping!) Apocalypse had sculpted wrapping, with paints and washes to complete the look of having risen from the tombs after a long rest. Limited points of articulation be damned...there's a reason I've kept some of these figures all these years. They looked amazing then, and still do...as they have had an aesthetic and personality that Hasbro has often come up short with.

I think it can sway either way with this "new" Felicia. On one hand, I do appreciate the sculpted *ahem* details on the original figure, this one does do a couple of things better, such as a better choice of plastic on the legs and body which gives the fragile Moonstone mold some stability, as well as better articulation in the hips, torso, and feet. I also like the gray wash a lot better than the blue...but honestly, you can go either way with it. She's worth revisting even if you have the original.

On a completely different note...with the popularity of Figpins at the moment...I'd love to see Hasbro reissue some of the pins from the original vintage Toybiz figures with these vintage figure releases in the future. While they never stayed put on your shirt pocket, I did love displaying them with my figures back in the day. I'd much rather have a reissue of that sweet Black Cat pin than the repainted Goose that Felicia came with. (I still have the original pin somewhere...but damned my luck, can't seem to find it. Eff 2020....seriously. )
Agreed on most points. I know you aren't crazy about that mold and your criticisms are completely valid. I'm not quite ready to see that mold retired, at least not until there's a suitable, or superior replacement. Good to know that they used an improved plastic.

I dig that you kept those original TB's! I miss them and wish I'd done the same. I didn't keep the figure pins, but I had a collection of the the comic pins they often sold at the counters of LCS back in the day. Those things were dope! I had so many that I would give them away to close friends I made as a keepsake. Corny, for sure, but I'm the sentimental type...many collectors tend to be...
