Reminds me a bit of the issues with Star Wars Black Series pre-Photo Real. People found some good sculpts underneath once you saw experts repaint these things. Or once Hasbro themselves updated them with photo real.

This looks like that. You can see a bit of Ben, and if the face was stripped down and repainted by somebody who knew what they were doing it might actually look like Ben.

This guy does great stuff. I have a Boba unmasked head and that Pattison Bats.

It takes a lot of energy and skill to paint that small well, not something that can be done in mass cheaply. Those heads run 40 50 bucks at times. And if they did that for the proto and then it didn't look like that at retail, would also suck.

Don't got the answer, just saying these may have sculpt present under the paint. May*.
