Between back issues of the titular 1st book/vol and the character's appearance in both the Defenders and the FF, I became a dedicated fan. Renato Arlem did some cool stuff and I liked Allred's book, but Tradd's art made me excited again to digest a well written Surfer Story. The coloring was off the chain too...

Oh wow man. I agree with all of that. Although I am not familiar with Renato Arlem. I just jumped back into comics about 3 years ago. But had previously picked up the Luther Strode stuff because of Tradd's incredible style. I saw a few books when they were released at Hastings (R.I.P.) when released. I read SS Black when released then bought Silver Surfer Black: The Treasury edition. You aren't familiar it's an oversized trade and the colors and spreads absolutely explode from the page.
