The Aquaman that they showed but never released was based on Flashpoint. Some of Mattel's final DC figures were pretty nice (Starfire, Alfred, and Kingdom Come Supes for example) but then others felt evident that since they knew they were losing the license they just half-assed things (Target exclusive Poison Ivy).
