There's an art to (good) statues that seamless figures couldn't hope to achieve. There's a lot to the dynamism, from the flex of muscles to the stretch of ligaments to the squish of fat and folds of skin, shading can be pre-painted to emphasize shapes and draw the eye, expressions of face and form both subtle and gross can be created beyond the scope of a poseable figure

I'm the type of person who can't wrap their head around MOC or MIB collectors (especially opaque boxes, like, it might as well not even exist in there!) so I get being baffled by a segment of the community, but that doesn't mean there isn't something more there that we're just not able to readily see on a personal level

Sneakerheads are still insane though. Buying shoes you won't wear? Those monsters kept me from getting Ripley's sneakers
