A lot of the figures don't use too many paints apps(which is a detriment at times) but there is a lot of detail. When your only other option is a $90+ figure. You can forgive/ignore certain things.
Part of this is due to a lack of competition for certain licenses. Hasbro is the same boat. No one get's to produce figures of DC/Marvel at certain scales with a high degree of articulation for similar prices.
If SHF/Mafex did a $35 version of the figures, you know more people would jump ship.
Now as to exclusives. Let's not pretend Mcfarlane is the only one doing it. But Mcfarlane is doing it the worst from the producer side of things.
The other coin to the stores screwing up for customers. The exclusives are very hard to get from Target and Walmart despite having thousands of locations all over the country. Despite having an online system.
When exclusives are announced for BBTS/Dorkside/EE, there's never really a problem. Stock is just going to be finite. Gamestop sits in the middle of these two.
I think this Walmart exclusive would have been fine if they gave people more a heads up and increased inventory to more acceptable amounts. In the US at least, would there be a problem if it was an online only exclusive with a suitable amount of stock?
