I read through Dawn of X Volumes 2 and 3 sans the Fallen Angels issues. I just have no motivation to read that series after the shitastic premier.

First off, these issues are weird in their timeline placemnet. Like some of them take place after a certain assassination while others seem to be before. And it isn't just series, but even issue ordering. Like New Mutants #2 continued where #1 left off while #3 seems to be before the assassination. Anyway:

X-Men - So Cyclops, Cable, and Cable's sister (had no idea Cyclops had another child from the future) go to this island that turns out to be a mate for Krokoa. Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooookay. If you say so. The issue was okay. The third issue, featuring Cyclops, Emma, and Sebastian getting their asses kicked by evil Golden Girls was pretty funny, especially when the quartet were insulting Emma. I have no idea who these Horticulture people are, but the issue itself was fun. Oh, why does Cable look like his movie version and how can he be there with Scott if he is with Psylocke in Japan?

Marauders - This series continues to be my favorite of the books. I love the focus on the Hellfire Club and how we get more insight into Emma and Sebastian being at odds with each other. I had completely forgotten Sebastian had a son, though I had no idea Shinobi was dead. Interesting to see he seems to have his own deals going on against his father though. I am really anxious to see how this run continues.

Excalibur - I wasn't really impressed with the first issue, but the second sold me on the series. At least, mostly, as I didn't enjoy issue 3 as much as the previous one. So who is Jubilee's child's father? I did find it funny that the kid turned into a dragon though. I'm also very curious about Apocalypse's plan he seems to be building up.

New Mutants - The second issue with the lawyer was quite hilarious, especially the document that said to get rid of the lawyer for being terrible. So Cannonball went off and married a Shi-ar imperial guard and had a child with her? Interesting. The banter between Sunspot and Cannonball was quite fun. As for the third issue, not sure what I think about it, especially with that hideous ugly thing called Glob. Jesus, why didn't they kill him with fire at birth?! I'm not sure where this is going as it was a tad boring, but I did like the comment, "So this is why they always send Wolverine first" that one of the members made.

X-Force - The weakest of the five series I have been reading so far. Wolverine and a teen guy on the hunt and finding Domino being used for a jigsaw puzzle. And this comic is for kids? Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. Not much seems to have happened other than that certain someone being brought back to life, diminishing the entire impact of him dying in the first place.

I'm enjoying these quite a bit, but at the same time, I feel like there is no real purpose to the stories from a narrative standpoint. Are they supposed to be leading somewhere? Or is it meant to just be everything meandering around until some big event occurs?
