if the plastic packaging is a bigger deal than the figure, it’s probably because the former is more likely to end in a landfill.

and by the by, I don’t disagree that eliminating plastic from those other sources (among other things) would have a much, much bigger and more positive impact. and we’d probably be seeing those changes if we had a political system willing to stand up to the interests of groups like the American Petroleum Institute i.e. I am not delusional to think the completely eliminating plastic from toy packaging (or even eliminating toys altogether) is what is going to save us.
