I think with pre-authorizations, rather than the weekly Target holds, Paypal's are yearly. The only drawback for me was that once the charge did show up, it got my hopes up that my figures were about to ship- sadly, the estimated date still says "coming soon" with that particular batch of figures.

Also, in the case of BBTS, I did notice something similar in EE's terms, and I understood that to be an actual upfront charge as opposed to an authorization.

Of course, take all of the above with a grain of salt; Target didn't always accept Paypal as a form of payment, and I only have two preorders so far to base my observations on. It's also not outside of the realm of possibility that I missed something entirely.

As an aside, I'm beginning to realize that I'd rather just have all of this stuff paid in full once the preorders go live. I'm not hurting for $$$ or I wouldn't be in this hobby, but I really do hate trying to juggle and remember, and then get the whole thing screwed up by early fulfillment. Just charge me up front. Done and done. Then I can forget about the whole thing and just have a nice surprise once they ship.
Well, damn, aren't you a font of shopping information. Thanks for the breakdown, my dude. Very helpful.

I feel better now knowing I'm not alone! lol

Quiet as kept, I may have done this on 2 or 3 other occasions.

However, it does suck if you don't have th funds immediately.
I never buy anything I don't have the money on hand for, nor do I buy anything that I can't afford without disrupting other expenditures like mortgage/lease payments or bills. This includes the 5 Sentinels and 5 Galacti for which I happily threw down. I've never been one to complain about waves arriving early and I'm always happy about that, speaking honestly. When I mentioned the BBTS inconvenience from years ago, I was simply caught off guard by the $400 (or so) not expecting an immediate draft, but it was all good. That said, I do find the pre-auth annoying because I order so much shit that it becomes hard to remember what's for what.
