I used VHT Vinyl Spray Dye (satin black), Mr Clear Matte Top Coat and Tamiya Smoke Clear. The great thing about the dye is that it fully impregnates the plastic. The figure looks like it was cast in black. I used the matte top coat for the "hard" armor bits and the Tamiya for super high gloss details and the visor. The Tamiya IS considered paint so I guess I cheated LOL.

A buddy and I have been experimenting with the VHT for a few months now and LOVING it. It's very very forgiving. If your hands shake but you want some simple and fun projects this is def for you. I purchase it on O'Reilly's site for in-store pick up. It's about 11 bucks there. You can also buy it on Amazon but, it's usually $21. So yeah, no.
