They're not, actually. The Battle Sister figures are roughly a head shorter than the Marines. Granted, it would be nice if they were shorter, but they're hardly the same size, and not too far off from the scaling in the 9th edition cinematic trailer:

6" Guardsmen and 7" Marines works fine for me. Not a huge fan of the more oversized Marine artwork.

Going by the proportions, the McFarlane Marines are First-Born in Primaris armour, not Primaris themselves.
