Yes when your production is that high and you sell every single one of the units, it's pennies. Upfront though it certainly is not. And this is asking for 9000.

Tack on the shipping expenses and consider more than just raw material.
Then you got licensing with marvel that isn't there with Gi Joe and Transformers(sorta).

I will consider the figures as being $20.
So if Early bird is reached, then the vehicle drops down to $310.

The car itself is 1:12 scale. I see people on twitter pulling out RC cars with hollow sells and diecast 1:18 or smaller scale cars.

This is where it gets difficult. Different models differ materials. Let's just say $100.

Then the interior is functional. Some have pointed out how Mcfarlane did the vehicles for the DC Multiverse line. Those vehicles have very limited functionality. It's a base with wheels.

There are LED/Electronics through out. Which means more time is spent in assembly.

There are numerous attachments. Some of them are painted.

All of this starts to add up in creating a many new unique molds.

There is greed and there is also the realities of a small production run. 9000, is a very small number.

That being said, I don't think this is a $350 product. Especially with the HISS being 300. Also I don't think any of the accessories or features are pointless. I think the thing looks solid. The figure they could have used better torso articulation. I do wonder if they could have gotten this into stores though. It's a highly functional car short of having RC components.

Now depending on what the tiers are, my tune may change. Do not expect a bike. Expect either Ghost Rider characters or things to enhance the main car itself.

If this was $300, I'd knock on the door of calling it a steal.

Presentation wise. They showed off the car and all the accessories with an actual prototype.
I've been collecting 35 plus years and understand alot of the ins and out of the toy industry and toy manufacturing.

Small productuon runs for small companies do have a price tacked on to them. Large companies like Hasyourdough do not have those issues. What the do have is the ability to pass that type of thinking on to the consumer to justify a price hike.

Comparing this to a Mcfaralne product..nah that doesn't work (I know you didnt). Hasbro is a veteran in the toy industry (far longer than Mcfarlane) and should be comparable to other companies manufacturing things like equivalently sized push or RC cars. And if you look next time you are at a toy store the prices in those cats. are not high! With work lights and all.

I do agree with most of what you said though. If the rest of the unlock are all figures.. this is not worth it. Unfortunately I love my sibling. And if he wants me to get it, I will. But I will wait to see what happens.
