I had bought one of the 2003 18-inch 67 joint poseable Spiderman figurines at the flea market for two dollars. The only problem was that he was broken in two between the waist and hips. After a year of looking at him and almost pitching him I finally put him back together. I am posting here in case others might be in such a dilemma.

The joint is held together with a plastic rivet that has two plastic rivets and a spring for tension.

The failure is that this rivet joins a slotted segment in the waist and one in the hips. Either of these slots can break.

The problem with fixing the broken area is A. fixing plastic doesn't hold well. B. It is impossible to put the spring rivet in place.

My fix utilizes the following:
A threaded post, three washers, 4 thin strips of metal. Plastic epoxy, JB-Weld, and Spider wire.

In essence you build the rivet using the washers, original spring, and firewire. You use the strips to rebuild the broken slots. The trick is to build each section with the apposing ends of the threaded post embedded. The Spider wire is used to keep the spring compressed until the two halves are joined. I am new to this site so I really do not know the tricks to posting pictures yet but I will try and help if anybody is in need. I'm just so tickled that Spidey is whole again.
