But I do agree with you regarding the sustainability of the BAF idea. I don't want to see the idea end, but maybe it would be nicer to get 4 or 5 deluxe characters a year rather than have to get complete waves. I've missed out on some BAF's because I didn't want anyone in the wave. However, at the same time, continuing to use a BAF concept forces people to buy everyone in a wave if they really want to BAF. Granted, there are secondary markets to get the BAF, but somewhere and somehow the equivalent of a full set was purchased to build the figure.
I'm rambling.
One last thought, if they stop including BAF parts in the future, I would hope it could bring prices down. I think we all know it won't, but it's an idea.
Prices won't go down, as you said yourself, but it's possible that it might mitigate them rising again in the future. I think ~$25 is a tipping point for many people. If it continues to go up, they'll lose more individual sales, or money from the sales made once items are discounted.

Honestly too, not having a BAF and just moving them to deluxe would be a plus for me at this point. There's several BAFs from the last year or two I would have gotten in deluxe form but not willing to spend money on an extra 5-6 figures. Plus, the only two non-X-Men BAFs I could see me buying now are Atlas and Stegron. I'd add Lockjaw for many people, but I did end up getting the one that came out a couple of years ago, so I'm good there.
