They are pretty much the size of the Legacy Morpher. I'd consider them sans the coins an all plastic version. If it weren't for some small changes, the coins and even that buckle would be interchangeable.

As for oversized?
Some people have child sized hands as adults. It's alright. It's like them making child sized LC Ranger helmets.
