Rocketeer is more like the Shadow or the Phantom, as most of his enemies are regular criminals and without the rocket pack he is an pretty ordinary guy. Adam Strange has more in common with spacefaring heroes like Flash Gordon and Green Lantern. I recommend the Rocketeer movie, which was directed by Joe Johnston who also did Captain America: The First Avenger. It has a similar look and feel.
