Since it was down to around $20 on Pulse I finally got the golden archive Xanathar the Beholder. I didn't know it would be quite as big as it is, the only review I ever looked at referred to it as "softball sized" but a softball is shy of 4" in diameter and Xanathar's main body/head is somewhere around 5-6" in diameter (it's not a true sphere shape so it varies based on where I measure). Obviously the total articulation is minimal and the eye-stalks only being articulated where they plug in doesn't yield a lot of moving parts, but I am really impressed with the way the eye moves and how its control rod is pretty well hidden in the mouth for display value. Of course this is the 5e Xanathar so he has his pet fish which is a nicely made piece as well. Some kind of flight-stand base option would've been cool but the pile of treasure (with a skull in it) does a good job of letting Xanathar rest on it.
