About once every couple of weeks on average. We all have other things going on. I try to minimize my presence online, because incoming messages quickly become unmanageable. Some people seem to crank out hundreds of messages without breaking a sweat, and simply keeping up becomes a chore.

I'll add the observation that there is something insulting about substituting texts for face-to-face communication -- and the quality of messages improves when they come AFTER conversation. Friends don't spam.
