The head sculpt reminds me of Sylvester Stallone.

This is just a blow-up of the old ToyBiz figure, isn't it? I remember I used to have that as a kid.

Yes, Gentle Giant does this with DC Super Powers, Marvel Secret Wars, Batman The Animated Series, and old Kenner Star Wars figures.

actually, this is based on the kenner super powers figure. the toybiz figure was based on the kenner figure but, if you look closely you can see the figure sculpt is slightly different than the kenner version and less refined. the torso is chunkier and wider, abs are shaped differently, belt straps are spaced wider, the boot v tips are more pronounced, etc..

Why can't they just reissue these figures? (Not Gentle Giant - but someone). I'd rather buy a set of MOC Secret Wars / Super Powers the same as the original than a giant gimmicky version.

Flooding the market with re-issues of vintage figures would drive vintage collectors nuts. But they should do it anyway.
