Aww, poor babies, the CEO and executives didn't get their additional millions in bonuses and couldn't even be bothered to stick around to the very end of the company that they all helped to put six feet under. Assholes.

Believe me, if I owned a company and any of these clowns came a'callin' for a job I'd tell them in no uncertain words to GTFO.

On another note, if upper management have all flown the coop, who's running the show? If I was working at TRU right now I'd be totally fucking off, selling merchandise out the back door, you name it.

BTW, don't worry about the poor, poor executives...they still made out fine, even if the rank-and-file retail employees aren't getting a dime of severance pay:
Quote:
Companies go out of business all the time, especially today. What makes the story behind Toys R Us so bewildering, especially to workers like Kleven, is that the companies that bought Toys R Us were able to nab huge profits even as the company went up in flames. Bain Capital, KKR, and Vornado have reportedly scored $470 million off Toys R Us.

On top of that, five executives were allowed to split an $8.2 million bonus, and Toys R Us CEO David Brandon got a $2.8 million bonus. These payouts are cemented into executive contract from the get-go. But according to the New York Post, Brandon and his fellow Toys R Us executives get to leave the sinking ship early next week with their giant wads of cash while retail employees like Kleven will continue to see out the gloomy end of Toys R Us. And on top of not having a job once Toys R Us shutters for good, they also won’t receive any severance.

I believe liquidators have been running the day-to-day in store operations. Execs had little to do with that once those teams were brought in.

Golden parachutes are an all too common form of corporate entitlement. Failing heads of business usually fall upwards and are rewarded with exceedingly generous severance packages, stock options, and an even better compensation at the next firm that they'll be given the reigns to potetially ruin. It's an open secret that continues to go unchallenged all while private sector lobbyists throw cash at politicians to dismantle the social safety net so that industry may privatize Social Security/Medicare/Medicaid and run those institutions into the ground as well. However, fear not true believer, the pending depression will devastate ALL...even many of the ultra-wealthy. Then there will be a reset and the cycle will start over again with big business blaming the have-nots for their blunders of overreach and avarice. Welcome to 2019-2020...

Just received an e-mail from 5 Below & they're claiming to be the new toy headquarters.

$5 & below will really limit their toy inventory!

Sure, without a doubt, but that last bit of cryptic cynicism was about the looming 'depression' (not ressesion) that a growing number of economists are predicting...

Pretty depressing, I can't even go back to my local TRU just to see what's left at the store..didn't want to see the helpful employees there that helped me so much back then.

It is depressing, knowing it will soon be something from the past. In 1 local TRU they're slowly starting to block off an area towards the back of the store.
