I looked him up and he's only been with Sega for like a year and on Sonic for six months.

I suppose it's either a coincidence or a subliminal thing, like hiring Marc WEBB to helm a Spider-Man movie. Subliminal as in they were subconsciously attracted to hiring the person because of their name. Like if you were the owner of a bakery and you had several people to choose from to hire as your head baker, wouldn't a guy named "Robert Pastry" really stand out from the crowd?
