I was on the fence about him, but now that I have him in hand, I really dig him.
You are correct, sir. |

Those Arkham City figures look amazing, Batman & Catwoman especially. Also, the Golden Icon Captain Marvel looks good too.

That is one of the best Batman head sculpts in the Multiverse line so far. Catwoman is a really nice upgrade from the DC Direct one.

Some more DC Direct/DC Collectibles shelves. There's a few Mattel scattered about, 3 Diamond Select iZombie Livs, and a Storm Collectibles Lobo.

I didn't even know they made the White Canary from Legends of Tomorrow.
I take it you're a fan of iZombie Livs if she earned a place on your WB DC shelve. |

I'm more of a fan of the comic. The show was ok. I had to put her with the other CW stuff.

When it comes to DC multiverse, I’m pretty much only collecting as classic looking versions of the characters as possible, I almost caved on GL Kyle and got the first version they released, so glad I didn’t as this is the definitive version of him. I think I saw someone post it on here but it appears to be true that McFarlane tend to release a variant before the classic look, I’ll be playing the waiting game for them all now.

When McFarlane got the license, it was hard to imagine what that might look like. I remember talking to a friend, saying, "What would be cool is McFarlane doing like a Twisted DC line, similar to his Christmas and Fairy Tale lines from way before, but trying to picture McFarlane doing something like DC Universe Classics wrecks my brain." As the stars aligned and the DC "Metal" books were all the rage, we almost got something akin to Twisted DC. It has been an interesting journey over the last 3 years to see the line evolve and twist and turn. It has been a slow ride, for sure, but an overall enjoyable one. I know Todd likes things that "look cool" and has said that he didn't want to jump into the line and just make figures that have been made before, some very recently to when he got the license. I can't blame him, really. So, that explains the weird versions we got early. But, I have to think that as someone coming up through the comic ranks in the 80's and 90's that the "classic" looks are "his" DC, you know? I'm sure when he pictures Nightwing, he sees Disco Nightwing, ala George Perez. If I had to guess, I'd say the lack of classic looks is based on a couple things…1. McFarlane wanting to break new ground and put their own mark on the brand (as any company would, I'd imagine) and 2. DC directive. Jim Lee said back in 2020 that the company was "looking and moving forward", so I'm sure, at the time, they were all about pushing "Metal" and "White Knight" and new designs and costumes for their characters, and shelving "the old". Obviously, DC being DC, they made a few missteps along the way and had to course correct for the umpteenth time. Now, they have the Omniverse, where every version of every character is "current" and in canon, so the classic looks are back in a lot of cases, even if it's just flashbacks or backgrounds in new books. In any case, I'm really satisfied with how the line is shaping up. I'll take the new and weird. I'll take the old and classic. It's all DC to me and I do like some DC. |

I'm very much in line with the way SpasticPlastic collects, only I'm more of a Marvel than a DC guy. Personally I really enjoy an evolution of a character. I.E., the Marvel movies figures, I like how the look and design of every characters evolved over the years and movies. I only replace a figure when they re-release an older figure with better paint apps. Subset like "What If?" they're in their own section, but otherwise you can see how a character evolves.

The shelves looks amazing. DC characters are really cool. Meanwhile, Doc Brown Neca figure looks great. Congratulations.

That makes absolute sense, but I'm just the opposite. I have all kinds of classic versions of these characters so I'm just fine with new or different versions. I do like the classic looks more, as it turns out, but I won't shy away from adding designs to my shelf that I didn't even know existed.

Yeah it’s true that classic looks for DC figures has been done over and over already, and even though I don’t partake myself, obviously there are people out there like yourself that want the crazy variations, and some that I bet a few fans could only dream about until now, and I dig it, truly I do, my last comment wasn’t meant to be like a complaint or whatever, more an observation. I actually quite like that classic looking versions are few and far between, I collect too much already, shelling out to McFarlane on the regular would really be a strain. Overall I too am satisfied with the line, long may it continue.

Here's the last of my DC Direct stuff. The 13" ones are what I've chosen to keep. I've sold about a dozen off, with 6 or 7 to go.

You really need to arrange your Kingdom Come figures closer to the order they appeared on the covers! Ha ha.
![]() I said it before, Kingdom Come remain one of my favorite graphic novels. It was not just a comic, it was a true Graphic Novel! |

Thank you.
I didn't take it as a complaint at all! I just got on a late night ramble there, I hope it didn't seem like I was trying to school you or anything. I was mostly just thinking out loud (or typing my thoughts out loud) (or typing my thoughts on screen in silence). |

Amazing dc collection, the Alex Ross figure especially stood out to me. Those have always been the most impressive dcd figures imho.

I tried that. The Bat "Cape" makes it nearly impossible. Plus, some of them have a hard time standing, so there's a lot of leaning and balancing to get them to all stay up.
