I got into Marvel comics around 2004-2005. I enjoyed Bendis' Avengers run throughout, including Dark Avengers during Dark Reign. Hell, it was probably the main reason I started collecting Marvel Universe. Once the Heroic Age began, I felt a serious dip in quality. Bendis' writing was never top notch, but it just kept getting worse and worse as the issues went on. On top of that, they introduced TWO ongoing Avengers titles AND a Moon Knight book by him, all priced at $3.99?!

I love Mike Deodato's and Daniel Acuña's artwork, but the price across these books for the quality of the writing right now is not worth it at all. I ended up dropping both titles from my pull. I got sick of the weak characterization, poor dialogue, and recycled storylines. I'll pay $3.99 for some good stuff like Captain America from Ed Brubaker or Uncanny X-Force by Rick Remender.

Alright, end of rant on how Marvel's handling of the Avengers book piss me off.

Lol, sorry. I've been holding that in for a while now. I think someone else should take over the Avengers books.

Nope- Beast and Wolverine- soon Storm.
I wish they'd do ANYTHING with Captain Britan! They made him an Avenger back at the very begining of the "Heroic Age"...but never used him!

Now that thor's dead (I know, just go with it), Cap went looking for the BLack Panther to rejoin the team- T'challa told him- "You dont need me- what you need in firepower! You need my wife!"

So that's X-Men, Fantastic Four and the Avengers that Storm's been on now!

Just makes getting her upcoming figure all the more important!

Marvel being stupid again- that's his old 1980's uniform!
Ug...Marvel editors suck. They let so many errors and outright mistakes get published all the time- artists drawing the wrong costumes, writers useing dead characters...
Just this month they used Viper in New Avengers and had her looking like her old, pre "got two through the head at point blank in Secret Warriors and turned into an octopus creature" self.
They use a different artist for the covers and that guy got her current look perfect.

In part it's the fault of the Marvel Universe sourcebooks- a lot of artists just look at them for reference- and they're 20 years out of date!
Editors are supposed to catch things like that- but Marvel's editors seem to just lick the boots of any "name" artists- which ensures that once an artist or writer gets popular, his work will suffer with no oversight.

Well...that was more or less saying "Hey, there is Cap Brit and Jim Hammond, yay!".
My idea wasn't to start a rant :P. But I agree, I get tired of seeing 100 different variantions of a costume.

I know where you wre coming from- it's just hard to muster excitement when you're dreading that the depictions of the characters might be as outdated as their costumes!

If they make Brian act like his 80's self, it'll SO piss me off!
Nothing sucks worse than seeing years of character development discarded by some jackhole writer that could not be bothered to read someone else's work.

That promo artwork cobbled together too- I'm certain it's a composite of scenes from the comic- see how there's no ground and everyone is just sorta pasted on?

Yea, it is just a teaser. The fact Hawkeye looks like Ult Hawkeye bothers me, and Beast looks more like a solder than a scientist. I hope designs change near the end. I also don't know if it is "fact" that Human Torch is Jim Hammond. Just been dying for him to make a return.

Hammond has been alive again for some time- and it's annoing that we just slogged through the awfulness that was Fear Itself with so many heroes that could have helped not being called in!
Hammond would have come running...if Cap had called him!
(which means "if the writers had bothered to think of it!)

Marvel's only books worth spending money on are Journey Into Mystery, X-Force and Punisher.

Thankfully, my Roommmate buys all the others and I read what's worthwhile in that- skipping crap like Spider Island and suffering some of comics least profesional art in stuff like New Mutants because the story is good.
Man that art sucks ass- they make Sunspit look like the Beast! Seriously- his nose is that wide and flat!

Bear in mind none of this shit has happened yet. So chances, Jim Hammond isn't even activated yet. He might not even be activated for the first few issues of these New Secret Avengers. And Venom makes perfect sense bro, you just got to read up on him. He's military. If it was Eddie Brock or Mac Gargan, then it would be a "Ffs" situation.

Not digging the new Hawkeye or Panther... As toy collectors we JUST got Commander Steve Rogers, only for him to go back to Cap. I'm pissed.

Kinda agree on Hawkeye and Black Panther. The costumes seem too stylized, like they should be part of GI Joe Renegades.

Storm is still sexy as ever in classics garb, hasn't aged a day since I first laid eyes on her.........in '75!
