Hi guys,

I was searching the internet for pics of the movie masters and managed to find someone who has reviewed the superman figure with close up pics I dont think weve seen before. Although the figure doesnt look like the original promotional image I dont think it looks bad at all, in fact im quite impressed. shame it doesnt have torso articulation though...

Here is the link to the guys review....

It doesn't look anything like Henry Caville. However, I thought they were not going to incorporate the textured pattern in the fabric. I was really looking forward to that version. Regardless, it's still a very cool Superman action figure.

well the strange thing is, in that large pic ive got up there in my first post, from that angle he really really looks like cavill, i mean REALLY looks like him, but then from other angles... not so much. im sure its just the angle/lighting which determines how it looks, once we actually have it im sure we will like it more!

Its all about the 3.75" figures for me (yes yes even with the crappy articulation) but I must say this looks pretty cool.

I don't mind if it doesn't look like Henry Caville anyway. The sculpt as it is has the right kind of Superman look, so I'm fine with it.

No ab crunch?

I like how he looks next to Batman. If I pick any MoS stuff up, this will probably be it. Unless I love the movie, or something.

I don't think I've ever used an ab crunch for any action figure, except to make them fit inside a vehicle. I don't miss it.

Really? I think companies (especially hasbro) really ruin the 3.75" line.. Especially when it comes to Thor and iron man. They have like 10,000 different versions or iron man.. And barely anyone else. Hell.. We had to wait forever to just get the hammer drones and whiplash.. And when all was said and done we never got a final battle fully armored whiplash. Same thing goes for the Thor line.

Hopefully Mattel will see all of the iron man 2 and Thor movie figures STILL warming pegs at toys r us, and won't just release 20 different superman figures with one other figure that is short packed and won't see retail until a year after the films release.

Also.. I hope there is some diversity with the movie masters figures.. Mattel has a pretty good track record with their batman line. A few different batmen, a few jokers, two face, Harvey dent, bane, catwoman, ras, robin, Gordon, and one of the clown guys.

Hopefully the 6 inch iron man 3 line will actually give us some more diversity than they have in the past.

The thing is, the fact that we didn't see a lot of the late Iron Man 2 figures and hardly any figures beyond the first wave of Thor and Captain America is not Hasbro's fault. The fault lies with the stores. The reason you still see Iron Man 2 and Thor figures is because stores over ordered the first wave, in Thor's case, in Iron Man's they overordered everything. So if you've got a large number of cases of figures, they're not going to sell out for a long time. And naturally, if a store has a mass quantity of them, they won't bother ordering later waves, because they haven't sold the first ones yet. So enough time goes by, the stores haven't moved stock and without orders for later waves, Hasbro cancels the figures because they aren't seeing a market for them. It's not Hasbro's fault, it's not the consumer (collector)'s fault either. It's the stores fault for ordering too much. It's not just the comic book movies either, the Star Wars vintage figures have the same problem. The thing is, even if you buy figures, there's no garauntee the stores will order more and Hasbro will produce the ones from later waves you want. There's really nothing you can do about it.

Am I the only one who hates that Zod is not in his armor???? Also I thing the Zod head looks like Antonio Banderas, but with no BAF this time I will only get Jor-El and Superman to go with my Dark Knight figures and the Hal and Sinestro from the GL movie masters.

Eh, it actually kinda is Hasbro's fault with the Thor figures. With the Iron man and Captain America figures, you had a decent mix of several movie characters and several comic characters, both of which appealed to the buyers. But with the Thor figures, the first wave had a bazillion goofy Thor variants, no comic versions of characters and only two other movie inspired characters, which is why they're still rotting on pegs to this day. Granted, the Iron Man and Cap lines eventually devolved into "goofy made up variant" territory, but at least that wasn't until later waves. And that is why they failed.

But back on-topic, it looks like they reused a lot of parts from Superman on Zod. or is that just my imagination (runnin' away with me?)

I think all three look great. That said, I'm really only considering getting one of them, and that's Superman. He would go great in my mix-and-match DC figure collection...which so far only has two figures...lol

Zod would be great if he was wearing his armor. Hopefully Mattel will release one. As-is he looks too...bland. Only thing I like about this under-suit of his, is that it proudly displays his family's crest. Something his armor seems to lack (at least I think it does).

I definitely appreciate the little stand. It's better than nothing, and they did make them different for each of them. Supes has his chest emblem, Jor-El has his in colors that match his armor, and Zod has his own family's crest.

I wonder who else they'll make. Faora is the only other one we know about, but there's got to be more on the way...at least I hope there is. There's still Lara, Zod's mute body guard (can't remember the name), armored Zod, and maybe even an armored Superman (I could see it happening). I'm still kinda hoping that they make a MM Lois figure. Perry would be pretty sweet too. There's potential for some figures of...well, since spoiler tags don't work here, I won't mention them, but there's certainly some more potential figure-wise...

All the new superhero suits have that carbon fiber mesh look now... even the new Spiderman suit had that too. I don't like that look... I prefer the old smooth material suits.

Texture makes them look more interesting onscreen, plus the MoS suit is based on the NEO-MEDIEVIL design aesthetic that all the Kryptonian stuff uses.
