Because he's Darth Vader. He's already the immensely popular main villain of the franchise and not just one of the new characters who will likely only be seen in Rogue One. They could very well just say that this is a toy of Vader from the original Star Wars and therefor not a part of the Rogue One push. It probably will be released as being a Rogue One Vader but it's the same look so that's just a small label. Either way he's Darth Vader and his popularity/cultural significance is so great that his toys no longer need ties to specific projects to sell so Hasbro can comfortably release them at their own leisure. I mean hell we didn't even get the first 6" scale Vader until a year after the line started when they switched to the blue line packaging.

I personally really want the new Vader to be the next wave released because I really want that Vader.

BTW, I can't believe how badly they screwed up Vader's look for the Rogue One Mafex toy. Did they even look at the movie when they made him?

Did they put the robes under the armor? I only look at Hasbro Star Wars and sometimes I check out what SH is doing.

I found Hux's wave at the beginning of January 2016 at a Wal-Mart. He was freakishly rare from then on and since then I've only ever seen one other in store and that was like a month ago at a Gamestop. His wave just saw poor distribution to say the least and Hux was more demanded than the others in it so he was the hard to find one. The only other new figures from his wave were the alien pilot Asty and the FO Snowtroopers but the troopers have been redistributed multiple times now.

The Game of Thrones ice wall finally came down in price at Toysrus so I picked one up. Found that flipping it around gave us a pretty nice Ice Cave- cut a hole in the top for Luke's feet and Ta-Da!

Hot Toys did the same thing for their RO Vader. Not a huge deal for me in Mafex's case since the entire figure is a drastic improvement over their older one. The helmet too doesn't look entirely accurate to RO/ANH...looks more like the ESB version with it's raised widows peak.

Trying to put together a respectable Rebels 3.75" collection. I missed the boat on most of them, as I didn't watch the show. Been binge watching seasons 1 & 2 earlier this year and watching every episode from this season online after it is aired. Really good stuff!

Trying to decide if we want to army build the Stormtrooper figure though. I think 2 on either side of the awesome Rebels Vader might do, but I sort of fancy a few more. Have loads of First Order troops that could stand in and look similar (with the modern 5 poa anyway)

So just a little FYI re: Target sales/returns:

I recently purchased 2 sets of the Target Exclusive Rogue One 3-pack (Elite Death Trooper, Cassian in brown pants/jacket & Jyn). I did so because the sale was Buy One, Get One 50% Off. So I dropped $90 for the 2 sets, planning to unload the 2nd set on Ebay to recoup some of my investment. I noticed on the receipt that the return value of each set was listed at $45. I explained at Customer Service I didn't really want the 2nd set but did want the first set at what amounted to 25% off. The clerk (and the computer system) returned 1 set for $45- no problem. Apparently, I had to buy 2 sets to get the deal but then could return 1 set for half the total cost, in effect splitting the discount.

Thought I'd share in case similar future sales on this or similar items spring up at Target.

My Revan collection, the only ones I don't have are the Lego minifigure which has only been an exclusive giveaway so far and the Gentle Giant mini bust.

I really really hope that Hasbro uses this Black Series Revan as a springboard for more KOTOR characters like Darth Malak, Bastila, and HK-47.

I saw the 3.75" Black Series Rogue One figures in Big W today, first time I've seen them in Australia since 2014.

So the pre-orders for the next 6" wave went up and I'm disappointed. There will only be two new figures in the case the rest will be repacks. The new figures will be Chirrut and Baze, until I see the movie these characters mean nothing to me. I figured we'd be getting Vader sooner than later but I was wrong.

Repacks are frustrating anyway, but at least attempt to make them work. Krennics, Jyns & Cassians are already clogging pegs. Repack the army builders, so the Death Troopers work, but how about the Scarif Squad Leaders or Hoth Stormtroopers or AT-AT Drivers or even older molds like the regular Stormtroopers & Sandtroopers?!

I'm surprised we aren't getting a regular stormtrooper re-issue for Rogue One. It's a great figure for its price and one we can all comfortably own multiple of so why isn't Hasbro giving us another serving of it? I'm guessing we'll see re-issues of the snowtrooper though since the FO snowtrooper got repacked like twice.

yeah- really surprised by the lack of a Stormtrooper in any of the new waves. With as much as they were all over Rogue One it seems like it should have been a no-brainer to throw him out there.

I hope if they reissue the Stormtrooper with a new, more accurate helmet. But even if they just reissue it as it is, I'd be fine with it. I'd grab some of them and some of the Bandai model kit to armybuild.
