I still have a while to wait for my pre-ordered re-release of the original Vader, among other things. I hope it doesn't suffer from the same issues. With the movie hitting theatres in a few days, maybe there will be less 'pressure to produce' and greater focus on the quality and attention to detail that made the Black Series so popular in the beginning.
Same here, hoping the rushed production is the issue and as demand catches up quality improves. Also hoping we will get some of those original trilogy figures we are still missing after the film releases.

Lando, Tusken Raider, and classic Snowtrooper are my top wants that they haven't revealed. Bespin Lando would be preferred but I'd take general or skiff disguise as well. Of the figures they've got lined up I'm currently not too keen on many of the ep7 figures on account of the movie still being unreleased (I have a few but most of them I'm relying on just looking cool and I got the Chewbacca because I didn't like the first Chewie's face) and from what little they've revealed that isn't TFA I'm extremely excited for Revan and will most likely also get Sabine.

Mace Windu is pretty much the only PT figure I want them to do that they haven't, I like Qui Gon Jinn a good deal (Liam Neeson is my shit!) but the fact that he's from the worst movie really hurts my wanting for a 6" toy of him.

They showed these before I think, they discussed them for sure. They were just gonna be like the 5-POA 6" figures, but I guess they're feelin' cheap and decided that 5.5" was good enough with 4-POA so they're not even really good for army building because of the scale.

i think stores will start having more stock in the next couple weeks since hasbro says that they're finally caught up on production.

.. which in itself is pretty lame. why they wouldn't have been prepared for this is pretty stupid if you ask me. it just tells me how little they know about their fans.

The fact Phasma is only one per box tells how little they know. Almost every trooper should really have their own case just to ensure availability. Instead we get repacks of ROTS Obi-Wan who clings to the pegs like a sloth.

BS 6" Wants-
OTC:
  • C-3PO
  • Old Wizard Ben
  • Hoth Snowtrooper
  • Tarkin (maybe just a bit of tweaking of Hux would do)
  • Gamorrean Guard (as an exclusive if necessary)
Prequels:
  • Grievous (with 4 arms/lightsabers)
  • Aayla (would make for a simplish Talon custom too)
  • Qui-Gon (cuz he's the bomb!)

Anyone know a good place to get an black series 6-inch R2-D2 & Darth Maul?

I never got them, and still need them, but anywhere like eBay is just full on scalped prices

I reviewed the Kylo Ren 5.5" Aldi figure. They're just terrible.

The prices being charged by scalpers seem shocking in some cases, and yet, the market sets the price! I can't help speculating that some collectors must have more money than sense. We're talking about little mass-produced plastic toys, not the Hope Diamond. Anyway...

If product authenticity is your priority, and you don't want to take out a mortgage, my suggestion is to sit tight and wait for a re-release. Hasbro is cranking out a fresh batch of Darth Vaders: ToyArk sponsors posted pre-orders for them earlier this month. Expect more re-releases soon.

If you're willing to accept something that might turn out to be substandard or a bootleg, you can check the listings at AliExpress.com - Online Shopping from China. I haven't ordered toys, but I have ordered lots of other stuff and never had any problem. (They're fantastic for cheap bike accessories.) At a glance, I see half a dozen Darth Maul figures selling loose for US$17-18. Be prepared to wait a while if you select Free Shipping at check-out. And again, don't be surprised if they aren't up to the usual standard. Caveat emptor.

The are no longer produced and hard to find so they will be priced as such, or "scalped"

I'm surprised how Darth Vader is treated. When he came out and for a good while after he was always like $50+ on Amazon and eBay, now he's under $30 on Amazon Prime. Hasbro screwed up distributing him, Boba Fett too. I found mine at a Walgreens last November, when I also got Proto-Fett, and I think it's a solid figure considering Hasbro made it. What amuses me is how many people complain about the thing (many complaints were valid) but then people were still willing to pay $50 for it after having bitched.

@ Zombombie's Captain Phasma Review

Good review: short and to the point, with demonstration and running commentary. LOL re: the ankle pivot!

Phasma's blaster might straighten with a hair dryer, but it'll probably just bend again when it's gripped in both hands. I have the same problem with Fett and the classic troopers with their blaster rifles. Here's hoping for improved articulation with future releases.

I've been looking to pick up a Phasma, but it's simply unavailable except from greedy scalpers. I don't believe Canadian retailers ever actually stocked them. They appear in online catalogues, but always and forever "Out of Stock."
