It is a fascinating political move but yeah it attracts too many stupid people. Well, here's hoping your luck turns and toy distribution picks up.

Just picked up the Vader/Ahsoka 2-pack. They had a Rebels related one, but I'm not sure on the character names as I've never seen it. Some big McQuarrie Chewie lookalike and a droid?

I got my Black Series Storm Trooper yesterday and there are things I like about him better than the Figuart, and there are things I like better about the Figuart.

I like the wider looking armor and that his double jointed knees give him more of a range of motion in his legs. However, the belt on mine is crooked and off and it just looks pretty cheap. The helmet is great on both, although, I think I like the helmet more on Hasbro's version. I do prefer the shiny look on the Figuart compared to the flat colors of Hasbro's. They both look great together nonetheless and the additional gun the Black one came with really helps to give him a different pose from what I already have. I do wish it was possible to hold the guns in either hand though, as there seemed to be an equal number of leftys as there were rightys. Oh, the Hasbro one can not move his arms sideways thanks to the armor whereas the Figuart one can. Finally, I prefer the lack of seeing the joints themselves on the Figuart version as the bolts can sometimes be off putting.

Appreciate the comments. I planned to buy a Figuarts trooper, but ended up with a batch of Black Series troopers instead. As new variants get released, I guess I'll keep adding. I just love that classic trooper design.

LOVE the pics! hahahaha

But we know that the Stormtrooper's guns don't suck because every other character uses them well at one point or another. Han, Luke, Leia, and Chewbacca all stage an effective prison break using E-11 rifles, and then again when Leia, Chewie, and Lando are escaping Cloud City they all use E-11s to great effect.

Maybe it's the helmets? Throws off the perspective or something.

Luke does comment that it's hard to see out of, but this could be for a lack of training. The Stormtroopers who take the Tantive-IV were pretty effective and deadly, they killed pretty much every rebel on board and only lost a handful of their own, and then the troopers at the battle of Hoth curb-stomped the Rebels. I mean they're supposed to be intimidating villains but if they were good enough to kill the heroes then we'd only have one movie and 80% of it would be an Imperial barbecue to commemorate their victory.

Some additional thoughts:

1) There's a scene early in Episode IV where troopers are boarding Leia's blockade runner, trying to move quickly, and one junior grade walks straight into a bulkhead, whacking his head hard. Having tried on a full-size helmet replica from the 501st, I can say that the visibility is very poor, as the field of view of those little transparent eyepieces is narrow. The helmets don't come with a transparent HUD like Iron Man's. We shouldn't be surprised to learn that hundreds if not thousands of troopers are killed every year from stupid falls off narrow battle station catwalks and gangplanks. (And if the Emperor landed on a heap of them at the end of his final plunge in Episode VI, they may have broken his fall, and he may have survived. Imagine the stink! Peuuuh.) Anyway, I agree: the most obvious explanation is that troopers have lousy aim because they can hardly see out of those helmets.

2) If the Empire is on its last legs, standards for recruitment and training may be lowered. Troopers may not know how to maintain and sight and operate their firearms properly. Our heroes must know how to adjust and test-fire their guns.

3) Troopers seem awkward and clumsy generally. Those suits of armor are hot and heavy. Troopers may simply be experienced and exhausted. If they have to move fast, they may even have trouble catching their breath and hyperventilate. If our heroes keep them running long enough, many may simply faint!

4) Trooper health may be affected by other things, like innoculations, or space-sickness, or bad food at the imperial cafeteria.

5) Troopers may also be sick of bad working conditions and intimidation by their commander and simply want the fighting to be over, so may pretend to fight by shooting in the enemy's general direction while actually rooting for the other side. Refusal to wear the helmet might be one indication of readiness to join the Rebellion.

Rgds

Not sure if this is common knowledge or not, but the 6" Black Series Anakin (the one that was ridiculously difficult to find and now sells for over $60) has been popping up at GameStop.

Star Wars The Black Series 6 inch Anakin Skywalker Figure for Collectibles | GameStop

On a whim, I checked their website today, and found a location relatively near me that had one in stock !

Yeah, for some reason a lot of Gamestops got the Anikin and the Ep II Clone and that is it. A few have also gotten the Han and Taun Taun as well.

It was that those who are way too good in training as Storm Troopers always disappear by the higher ups. It turns out that the Empire tends to get rid of those who could possibly become Jedi.

"Wow Jenkins is doing terrific in training today!"
"Yep, he's one of our best, a real soldier with true qualities of a leader."
"Or maybe it's because he's a Jedi, right? I mean there's no other possible reason for somebody to be good at fighting."
"You're right, we should kill him and cover it up."
