Alright folks who else likes the ultimate bad ass, DARTH REVAN? This guy was central to the awesome RPG, KOTOR and I read he showed up in TOR(yeah I spoiled it for myself, whatever, Revan Rocks).
Anyways the TAC Revan figure Hasbro released back in 07 was under-articulated and inaccurate. Wrong mask sculpt, no knees nor ankles. I've been looking at the pics of the 6" Black Series figures and they look awesome. I think Revan deserves a 6" Black Series figure, from KOTOR! Question is, do you guys want a figure of Revan like that too? Discuss!

I'm excited to see where this scale of black series goes. |

Why not? I probably won't get him, but that's because I have a strict rule when it comes to SW toys these days: it must have appeared in one of the six films. I used to really be into EU, but it got to the point that I was buying SW toys just to buy SW toys and didn't really enjoy the hobby any more.

While I'd love to see it, I think it's going to be a looooong time before the 6" black series starts dipping into the EU. Except maybe with the occasional exclusive.
Think about it: They're basically starting over. There are TONS of movie characters that could be made in their various incarnations before they ever have to start worrying about EU. They haven't even announced a 6" Darth Vader yet, for pete's sake. Oh, and then they'll have a new trilogy of movies to make stuff from, too. Long before they get to EU offerings. That's not even getting into the rumors that Disney may abolish/reboot the EU entirely. |

Oh HELL yes.
I'm still on the fence whether or not I'll collect the 6" line, but whether I do or don't I will put my cash towards ANY KotOR figure that gets made. For Revan in particular, though, I hope they don't ever decide to use his 'canon' unmasked appearance from TOR. I'd rather be able to imagine MY Revan being under the mask and robes. |

I would totally get all the KOTOR figures if they ever made them. I find it hard to imagine someone going "Meh, it's only Darth Treya with her 3 purple lightsabers."

Yes yes and yes. It's all I want from the line tbh. I don't know what good it will do to rant about it on here (who knows if Hasbro cares enough to browse feedback on here) but I'd absolutely love a Black Series Darth Revan. I'd like to see an entire wave of nothing but KOTOR figures simply because I'm a bigger fan of KOTOR than the main series.

Revan. He/she is a character in the game Knights of the Old Republic. The backstory is pretty complicated, but the gist of it is:
SPOILERS AHOY! Revan was a powerful Sith Lord (and a former Jedi who disobeyed orders and led others to fight in the Mandalorian Wars) whose mind was wiped clean by the Jedi council and used as a tool to hunt down and stop his/her former apprentice-turned-Sith-Lord Darth Malak. You play as Revan during the entire game without really knowing it until the later half, if I remember correctly. You decide towards the end whether Revan turns on the Jedi Council or stays on the light side. Last edited by Poison Shadow; 08-21-2013 at 05:35 PM.. |

Characters like Revan, Malak, Bastila, Zayne Carrick, and the entirety of the Republic Commando Delta Squad as well as Starkiller excite me far more than Luke, Leia, Han or even Boba Fett ever will. |

Shame. Personally from what Expanded Universe stuff I've read/played (which is admittedly very little compared to others) the movies are, in my opinion, the inferior stories. Classics for sure, and a great springboard for the SW universe, but inferior.

Personally, I disagree. And I've read a good chuck of EU material (not much from the last 5-6 years, though). But I grew up with the original trilogy, so my opinion is most likely skewed by that - at least on some level.

For the most part, though, any EU stuff that takes place well before the movie era tends to be pretty good. As long as you can get past the idea that technology has been pretty much completely stagnant in the Star Wars galaxy for thousands of years. Last edited by Jmacq1; 08-22-2013 at 09:03 AM.. |

HELL YEA. Bastila is another easy pick, and we would of course need the bad ass MANDOLORIANS! The Fetts? Pfff, as cool as they are, they don't even compare! Quote:

Then you're missing out on the greatest Sith ever.

Yeah, from what I remember he ended up looking like a pretty generic white guy with blonde hair. The model I always used was the guy with the buzz cut and scars - which I believe ended up being the one used as The Exile on the box art for KotOR II, despite the Exile now 'officially' being female. She showed up in TOR as well, if memory serves - as a force ghost that kept popping up in the one Revan mission I got to play before cancelling my sub.

EU comes in many flavors of quality ranging from "complete crap" to "legitimately great" across a wide variety of media. There's a lot of it that's DEFINITELY superior to the prequel films (IMO) and a fair bit of it that can at least stand alongside the original trilogy if not surpass it. I'd honestly have to say the fellow that said the EU in general surpasses the films must have been VERY lucky in his selections of material for viewing/playing/etc... 'Cause there's a lot of garbage out there, though I think a lot of the REALLY bad stuff is pretty much out of print nowadays.
For the most part, though, any EU stuff that takes place well before the movie era tends to be pretty good. As long as you can get past the idea that technology has been pretty much completely stagnant in the Star Wars galaxy for thousands of years. Quote:
But Boba? When a bad ass Sith Lord specifically calls you out when laying down ground rules for a mission, you are automatically made a bad ass yourself. I point to that scene every time some one asks why Boba is so popular, when he didn't do very much in the films and died like a bitch (the EU story about him escaping the Sarlacc notwithstanding). Apparently Lucas never understood why either, which is also why I believe he's not that great of a storyteller unless he has help.
