On the topic of the figures, though, I'm loving these Mando reveals. I've been hoping for more of Brian Matyas's more eclectic designs to see plastic for years now, and the more heavy-duty body armour on the male "Shriek-Hawk Trainer" from the 2-pack is especially welcome (as is the new sidearm; I'm sick to death of the "Beretta Cheetah" version of the WESTAR-35 that they've been giving every single Mando figure; it looks absolutely ludicrous when held by male figures).

I think this is getting silly. If I want a Boba Fett repaint, I can do it myself. What's next, dressing Threepio in Mandalorian armor?

Yeah probably, Personally I'm hoping for a Mandalorian taking a dump. Unfortunately we'll never get a Darth Vader on the toilet diorama because his waste processing equipment is in his legs, although they could make an ultimate detail Vader with opening panels including on his legs with translucent brown stuff in small tanks.

Strange naming for these new figures... Mandalorian Shriek-Hawk Trainers and Mandalorian Shriek-Hawk? If the Shriek-hawk is the animal, shouldn't the single packed figure also be labeled a trainer?

Lucasfilm can't just name the characters?

Oh, and Hasbro labeled their "Pride" collection as "Rainbow" shirts and buried it under a bunch of Joe announcements and the aforementioned Haslab. Glad that's all working out for them.

In all seriousness the Cantina looks pretty cool. If anyone still cares about this franchise funding should be met sometime tomorrow, if not sooner.

From here https://www.banthaskull.com/story/ne...me-for-tonnika

Basically "Angela confirmed some of the rumors, including that Lucasfilm lost the paperwork they needed to create merchandise in her likeness, and that when given the opportunity to sign again, she questioned the benefit she would receive in doing so. She was disappointed that after signing the release, she would still need to pay for her own figure. She explained that she thought it would be fair for them to send her a sample, and ultimately refused to sign. Since Lucasfilm could not get her to sign the new release, Hasbro could not create a figure of the character. The other actress who portrayed the other sister, Christine Hewett, sadly passed away in 2007. She did sign the new release Lucasfilm provided her shortly before her passing, yet a figure of that Tonnika Sister has not been released either."

Love the cantina scene.
But not $400 to $500 love.

It looks cool. I feel like resources could've been put to something fans can't 3D print. And Yeah, I've heard the arguments, this is cheaper than 3D printing and painting. Sure.

Doesn't change my opinion. Still cheap to half-@$$ your own space bar. I mean, as a kid no Cantina set, but we used wooden blocks and a cardboard box and had good-enough BAR.

Who is this Haslab Cantina for? The people that they're fawning for don't buy merchandise to any science fiction franchise. The people who kept Hasbro and Lucasfilm in business for decades have in more ways than one, been told to go away and that their business is no longer desired. Not every Classic Star Wars fan behaves like an abused spouse crawling back for more punches to the face, most will or have already stopped buying the Star Wars merchandise. Original Trilogy stuff that used to sell went straight to Ollie's.

A Black Series cantina bar, if done well with nice detail, would be a tempting thing.

Edit: On second thought, forget it. The price will be silly.

Given that Disney bought theatre tickets to make everyone think their movies were selling, I wouldn't put it past them to do the same thing for Haslab projects.
