In conjunction with the new animated shorts, which are pretty cool:

Mini comic Han kinda looks like Shaggy from Scooby Doo IMO... actually Luke kinda looks like Shaggy too... they all actually look like they should be from Scooby Doo IMO.

And why are they spending money on all this extra stuff to get you to buy a 5POA fig when they could be spending that extra money on articulation to get you to buy that 5POA fig.

Well maybe these are nice? New sculpts would have been great, but $5 seems a better price for these reused molds. I guess cute as stocking stuffers.$10 stocking stuffers.
Now that Steve Evans is leaving the Star Wars brand for the “in-house” properties at Hasbro,I think the writing is on the wall. I will be highly surprised if Hasbro renews the star wars lisence after 2020. I wonder who will pick it up....if anyone. Mattel and 3.75 scale is rough. Maybe Disney themselves? The droid factory stuff is quite nice. Well,at least the sail barge is happening. I had such high hopes for Disney with star wars. What happened?

I highly doubt Hasbro would give up the Star Wars license, even if it wasn't a big moneymaker for them they wouldn't risk another company getting it. Those cartoony designs though.... Blecch...

I like to hope, but buzz on Star Wars sites is that they are done after 2020. Star Wars costs to much and they seem to be barley making profit on it...some post I have read actually suggest they are losing money. They own power rangers now and with the in house brands, they are good.

Most think the sail barge is not a new lease on life but the ultimate thank you to fans, much like the uss flag for gi joe. If you look around you see thevwriting on the wall. Steve Evans leaving reminds me of toyguru leaving Mattel. As soon as he did a year later motu goes super7 and Matty closes down.

Star Wars is not what it was. And the cost of the lisence seems to be to high.

I hope I’m wrong but I think most of us deep in the Hasbro Star Wars collecting are preparing for what is coming.

They don't even look like the cartooned versions. I would have rather had them look like that instead of just the regular basic figure look.

That's not a proper analogy. The USS FLAGG was released for kids and was also Hasbro's way to showing retailers its confidence in the A Real American Hero line (which had its sales peak in 1986). From what I understand th FLAGG wasn't really considered a success, either, with some eventually being clearanced out at major outlets. The later Defiant Space Shuttle Complex hung around Toys R Us until the early 1990's.

The Barge might be the big good-bye, though. Maybe either Disney lowers the licensing fees or Hasbro walks...and maybe they should, Star Wars toys (besides Lego) are becoming retail poison.

Exactly! They want us to accepr the art design and take a chance on thier show but They aren’t willing to take chance on these designs for the toys.

Yeah, I dunno if the cartoony designs are actually a big draw at retail, as opposed to the completist-type collectors. Especially since they will be of the, ahem, same basic characters.
