Usually I wouldn't mind less articulation on a star wars toy but this guy does not have enough aesthetic value to make up for rigid knees and elbows. What kid is going to want that?
I was almost starting to be interested because of the cool color scheme . Anyway, I was anxious to see a figure for the Rebels show so thank you Toyark for that. |

I hate how they think any major villain needs to wear black and have a lightsaber.

I really hope this 5pa shit backfires and Hasbro (and Mattel) have to quit being so cheap and lazy.

I'm hoping that Hasbro will take the same approach with the Rebels figures that they are with their current two lines, by doing the 5PoA figures for the kids, and an articulated "Black" (or whatever) series for us collectors. I'm trying to stay optimistic, but Hasbro makes it so hard sometimes, with their increasingly bad decisions.

I'm trying to convince myself that I like the design, but yeah, I agree with all the other posts that it looks like far too many that have come before. I guess they can't take too many liberties with the design since they're dealing with an established era, and that era does already have something of a specific aesthetic, but yeah, even working within the confines of a specific aesthetic, surely the designers could have come up with something that wasn't so redundant
![]() Hopefully, the other new characters will be a little more interesting. |

Most likely another apprentice, given that he is a "Jedi hunter" (and not an interrogator, as his title would imply). Although I was always under the impression that Vader himself hunted down all the remaining Jedi (excluding Obi-Wan and Yoda, of course).
Then again, there's quite a lot of the old SW history that's been retconned at this point (to its detriment, IMHO). That "Rule of Two" thing was all bull$#!t anyway. Quote:

Ahhhh Hasbro you're so nostalgic for the 80s(when 5POA was king). Hope you guys realize you're putting YOURSELVES outta the action figure game.

Not impressed at all! Basic 1970's articulation that is soooo not worth my dollar anymore. I've gotten bored with Star Wars completely and seeing new figures that are lame just push me away even more. Would rather buy Marvel Legends or Transformers anyday over Star Wars.

i love how it says "features five points of articulation" .. like that's supposed to be some cool selling point for people.

lol. looks like it.
it's SUCH a shame man.. i absolutely LOVED the clone wars line.. it was awesome.. sure some figures had limited articulation.. but for the most part it was pretty awesome. i mostly collect the clones.. and they were great.. except they really started sucking towards the end.. captain rex, the one with the phase 1.5 helmet had very limited articulation and it totally sucked (not to mention his head was too big).. i don't know why they'd release a figure like that. on the other hand, cody's phase 2 figure was incredible.. all the articulation you'd want plus rocker ankles. i just don't get it.. from the looks of this, the aesthetic is pretty cool. but the 5 POA totally ruins it for me. the current 5 POA figures continue to collect dust on the pegs.. hell they can't give those things away. go through the toy aisle before christmas and you'll see empty pegs except for the star wars 3.75" section. so, it clearly isn't working. no one wants toys like this these days. hell.. when we were kids we didn't really mind it because there wasn't anything other choice. these days kids know the difference. |

even more confusing, is that in pic it looks like he was ankle articulation, but why would they choose that over the much more needed knee articulation? He doesnt even seem to have elbow movement either.

i think the lighting on the boots are giving the illusion of ankle articulation. i high doubt that they'd dropp knee or arm articulation for ankles.

Looks to me like his boots might have a stirrup or some other kind of strap on the foot. Kind of like he's wearing shin guards or something, instead of a standard knee-high military-style boot.
