At the flea market this past weekend and we picked up a carded Toy Biz Stealth Venom. When we got hom and my boy opened it, the plastic was all sticky... Tried washing it with dish soap but that didn't help... any suggestions?

ive never heard of this before on toys, but ive seen this plenty of times with new packaged tools, where grease residue from the factorties assembling process is still there. If its grease, then water wont due much.

it's not greasy, it's sticky... and it doesn't seem to be a film that can be washed off, just the actual plastic degrading... the only other time i've seen this was when I had the old LJN WWF wrestling figures. They sat in the attic for a while and the rubber they were made of started getting all sticky....

has to do with the paint and plastic and its been in package for so long with out getting any air, some of my older legends where like that, overtime the stickyness goes away,

I had this with the Ultimate Spiderman that changed into Peter Parker. The hoodie was sticky. The part that sticks out to me is that you got this at a flea market, which might mean the figure has been set out in the sun A LONG TIME. this might have caused the plastic to take on a chemical reaction. Maybe try freezing it over night. It's worth a shot.
